Zambia is often neglected as a birding destination in Africa, and yet it boasts some of the most extensive tracts of pristine wilderness in Africa supporting an almost unparalleled diversity of mammals and well over 700 species of birds including at least two fabulous endemics (the Black-cheeked Lovebird and Chaplin’s Barbet). This exciting tour focusses on two sites in the southern part of the country, namely the Nkanga River Conservation Area and the immense Kafue National Park. These two sites will afford you the opportunity to see both of Zambia’s endemic birds as well as a host of other highly sought-after Central African species including the African Spotted Creeper, Southern and Yellow-bellied Hyliotas, Racket-tailed Roller, Shelley’s Sunbird, Fülleborn’s Longlcaw, and Dickinson’s Kestrel to name a few. Mammal highlights include distinct chances for Serval, Lion, Cheetah, African Wild Dog, Leopard, both the Sable and Roan Antelopes, Southern Reedbuck, and Hartebeest to name a few.

This tour is made available through our Tailor-made tours department. To explore this offering further for pricing, precise day to day itinerary, inclusions & exclusions, or to tailor the tour to your personal requirements, please contact our Tailor-made team on tailormade@rockjumper.com

Andre Bernon was a great leader, with great vision and bird finding skills. He also had excellent people skills, both with the participants and the various third parties that we dealt with. He maintained good humour and an even disposition throughout.

André Bernon

Thank you for a wonderful trip! Thank you, Andre Bernon, for all you did to make it so memorable!

Glen Valentine
JS, Zambia 2015

Glen was very organised and knowledgeable. He gave clear directions as to what we would be doing the following day. He has a very calm and friendly manner. He has extremely good hearing and the ability to both hear the birds and point them out. He was very helpful to assist me when I did not see where the bird was. I would certainly like to travel with him again.

Gregory de Klerk
PL - Zambia 2019

I enjoyed the trip… a nice mix of birds and other animals. Greg de Klerk did a great job. I hope there will be another trip that I can travel with him.
