Our short extension to the tiny Kai archipelago takes us to Kai Kecil and Kai Besar - the two largest islands, each hosting its very own suite of endemics. A short trip to Haruku Island should produce Moluccan and Dusky Megapodes, before we head to Kai Cecil and Kai Besar where we’ll search for the endemic Kai Monarch, Golden-bellied (Kai Kecil) White-eye, the elusive Kai Cicadabird, keyensis subspecies of Rufous-sided Gerygone, endemic assimilis subspecies of Northern Fantail (Kai Fantail) and the ubiquitous and noisy Spangled Drongo (Kai Spangled Drongo), Kai Coucal, Pearl-bellied (Kai Besar) White-eye and localised Cinnamon-chested Flycatcher.
Wallace's, White-bibbed & Rose-crowned Fruit Doves; Kai Monarch; Golden-bellied (Kai Kecil) & Pearl-bellied (Kai Besar) White-eyes; Kai Cicadabird; Rufous-sided Gerygone; Northern Fantail (Kai Fantail); Spangled Drongo (Kai Spangled Drongo); Kai Coucal; Cinnamon-chested Flycatcher; Amboyna Cuckoo-Dove; Pink-headed, Elegant & Pied Imperial Pigeons; Red Lory; Coconut & Red-flanked Lorikeets; Red-cheeked & Eclectus Parrots; Orange-footed Scrubfowl; Moluccan & Dusky Megapodes; Papuan & Elegant Pittas; Arafura Fantail; Metallic Starling; Tanimbar Friarbird; Mistletoebird.

"It was a wonderful adventure, fulfilling all the promises in your advertising. Adam is amazing. His knowledge of Indonesian birds and their vocalizations is phenomenal. He was extremely patient, waiting for endemics and other special birds to become visible and making sure that we could all see each and every one. Not only that, Adam was also an excellent travel companion."
Glen was again a wonderful guide who has excellent field skills and is always willing to help clients who are struggling to find the birds or who have other ‘issues’..
Expert guiding by Keith and Glen Valentine, aided by fabulous local talent, ensured we saw the maximum number of endemics and other birds and mammals. Perhaps more importantly, these two brothers enjoyed their time together and provided a warm, friendly and caring environment in which we all had a good time with lots of laughs, and looked out for each other to ensure everyone got on the birds and did not falter on a tough hike or challenging car ride.
I traveled with Andre on a tour of Ghana several years ago. He was good then, but he has improved a lot since and is an excellent leader doing his very best to get each and everyone on each bird. He also capably handles disagreements to keep them from getting out of hand, a valuable talent that not every tour leader has. I probably won't be doing many more bird tours because I'm getting a little too old, but if I did, I would certainly consider prioritizing another trip with Andre. His second in command, Raja, was superb and helped many times for the group to get another bird for the list.
We had a fantastic time. Everyone looked after us so we’ll, very well organised! Many thanks for putting a together a brilliant birding tour. It was everything we hoped for and more
