For our Ghana Budget birding tour, we have cherry-picked the very best and most accessible birding sites of this fantastic country and packaged this into a shorter and more cost-effective offering. This tour is primarily focused on Ghana’s incredible forests which include the famous Kakum canopy walkway, vast Ankasa Forest and the unique Atewa range. Andre was really good. I feel he is a potential superstar leader. He has great birding skills and his people skills a pretty good too and will improve with time. He is at his best when helping the tour group work on those tough skulkers. On our next to last day we got three or four of these tough to see birds and it was all due to Andre's skill and patience in dealing with the birders in the group. It was very impressive. That day was one of the best birding days I've had and it involved a lot of hiking. I'd certainly recommend any birding trip with Andre as a guide.
We covered the length and breadth of Ghana on this fantastic tour, with wonderful birds, very friendly people and many colourful sights. Rob Williams and our local guide, Philip, were outstanding. They complemented each other beautifully and both were cheerful and enthusiastic. We greatly appreciated Philip keeping us supplied with fresh local bananas, mangoes, watermelon and pawpaw throughout. The organisation of the tour was superb and everything went smoothly
The Ghana tour was difficult is some ways due to the heat, humidity, dense forest birding, and limited facilities. That said, the birds were and the trip was well organized and brilliantly led by Greg and our local guide!
Andre is an excellent lead guide – extremely good with people and logistics as well as birds and other wildlife. We would select another tour lead by him in a second.
The Rockjumper guide, Nigel Redman, was great.
