DIFFICULT: This is a high-intensity “mega” tour designed for passionate listers and serious birders who enjoy a fast-paced schedule. Due to its demanding nature, it’s not recommended for avid photographers, inexperienced birders, or anyone with mobility or health limitations.
Fast paced. This is a moderate to difficult tour. You should have a GOOD level of fitness, stamina & be in good health. Not suitable for dedicated or avid photographers; inexperienced birders; or anyone with mobility or health challenges.
Comfortable in Iquitos, rustic in the forest lodges with ‘natural temperature’ showers, no AC.
Moderate to demanding. Bird density is low, primarily Amazonian Forest birding. Several difficult target species that may require repeat efforts.
Amazon River, canopy walkway
Worthwhile to difficult, typical rain forest conditions of variable light & fast-moving birds.
The tour was fantastic. Forrest Rowland, did a terrific job spotting birds, giving us clear directions to actually sight the birds and displayed plenty of patience in the process.
Our guide, Rob Williams, was exceptionally well qualified, good humoured in all circumstances and remarkably diligent in accommodating all levels of birding skills within our group. He went out of his way to make sure that each member of the group realised their expectations for the trip. We would welcome the opportunity to join him on additional trips; he is a quality individual with sound values and a superb representative of Rockjumper Birding Tours.
Rob Williams is the best guide I have ever birded with - wonderful birding and people skills.
Guides were awesome. Found lots of birds; guide was way too knowledgeable about the bird species and taxonomy.
Successful and enjoyable. Rob proved his already high reputation. Special thanks to our driver Miguel - always helpful, always smiling.
